Each pixel can remain static in either a 'dark' or 'light' state without requiring additional power. More advanced modules even support up to 16 shades of grey or 7 distinct pixel colors.
The best part? Once an image is updated, it remains displayed without needing constant refreshing, allowing battery-operated devices to last for weeks or even months on a single charge.
