The product design requirements of your HMI will determine the optical and electrical performance of your LCD display's backlight. Whether there is a specific target for display luminosity, LED diode configuration to meet certain power supply circuit specifications, or thermal management considerations, Anders will help you find the right solution, every time. Here are just some of the solutions that we have provided.
Local dimming is an advanced backlighting technology that enhances contrast and picture quality in LCD displays. By dividing the backlight into multiple zones, each with independently controlled LEDs, local dimming allows for precise brightness adjustments.
This targeted control enables darker areas of the screen to achieve deeper blacks while keeping bright areas vivid, resulting in sharper contrast and more lifelike visuals.

LEDs positioned along the screen's edges direct light through a diffuser to create dimming zones. While cost-effective, they lack precision, often resulting in brightness bands and limited control over specific screen areas.
FALD features a grid of mini-LEDs with individually controlled dimming zones, offering exceptional contrast, deeper blacks, and HDR performance by synchronizing brightness with screen content.
Using larger LEDs with fewer zones, direct-lit systems provide better performance than edge-lit designs but less precision than FALD, leading to potential light leakage and reduced contrast.
