Single Board Computers, or SBCs are ready to go and motherboards including a processor, RAM, I/O and a variety of other features. They come complete with all peripherals and connectors and can be also be pre-loaded with an operating system with an application already burnt on.

SBCs are chosen to provide a fast and reliable system, especially for those product designers without specific embedded knowledge – therefore saving time and cost when developing a new product.

For those designers with more embedded skills, a Computer on Module may be the preferred choice as it provides greater flexibility in designing to exactly match your specification.
