HVGA – Half VGA

A display resolution which is half the size of a VGA (commonly 480 x 320)

The standard width of an HVGA display is 480 pixels. Because of its high pixel rate, HVGAs are used in high-end devices such as smartphones where more graphical content needs to be displayed.

HVGA are among the smallest screens used and less commonly used as devices on handheld displays are generally getting larger. TFT and AMOLED displays are the display of choice for modern smartphones because of the intensive graphic performance needed.
