Unlike traditional LCDs, ePaper only consumes power when the image changes, thanks to its bistable technology.
Each pixel can remain static in either a 'dark' or 'light' state without requiring additional power. More advanced modules even support up to 16 shades of grey or 7 distinct pixel colors.
