Welcome to comments, news and updates from the home of optimised user experience. In a world where the user interface (UI) is inextricably linked to end-user experience, keeping up to date with interface trends, technologies and developments is critical for all of us involved in developing and marketing new products. As Rob Anders, the andersDX CEO explains in his video , this Blog aims to make that process as simple as possible by providing a source of regularly updated comment, news and technical advances that support and inspire innovative interface design and optimised user experience.
User interfaces and display technology have come a long way since Anders started selling analogue meters over 60 years ago. In the last few years, for example, the look-and-feel and intuitive usability offered by tablets and smartphones has played a significant role in influencing the way that people expect to interact with a both consumer and non-consumer applications - from medical systems to retail terminals and from industrial control to warehouse systems. As a result designers, engineers, systems integrators and marketers all recognise the need for interface design that brings products to life and makes them easy and enjoyable to use.
Of course, successful designs require so much more than hardware, software and good engineering. A truly optimised user experience comes from a holistic approach that combines traditional technical and engineering aspects of interface design – and underlying computer technology - with behavioural, psychological, cognitive and environmental factors related to usability. We hope to cover all these areas in future Blog posts.
I do hope that you enjoy our posts on the andersDX blog and that our passion for optimising the end user experience shines through in everything you read. Naturally we welcome comments and opinions and will do our very best to seek out responses to even the most taxing of interface design queries!
